📦 What You're Actually Buying
This sandwich franchise is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get into the food business, has cash on hand, and understands what comes with buying a food franchise. Keyword? Cash on hand.
Your startup costs come from:
Franchise fee (~$50K)
Equipment and store build (~$350k-$450k)
Operating cash (~100K)
Other fees (training, POS, etc.)
They also require you to have liquid $150k
🧮 How the Money Flows
Sourdough and Co makes their money from your sales. They take just a 5% royalty(this will go up) and currently do not have any advertising percentages.
Break it down:
Avg monthly revenue: $65K
COGS: ~$20K
Labor: ~$15K
Rent + fees: ~$10K
Franchise royalties: $3K
Left with: ~$11–16K/month (pre-tax)
Not bad. Keep in mind, this is prior to loan.
🤔 Would I Do It?
Mmmm, I believe food franchises are the lower classes number one escape route. If you pick the right location and right concept, you could very well be expanding quickly and start accumulating cash to diversify.
But—this comes with an INSANE amount of work. Shop’s like this do not work when they are absentee. Scratch that, shops like this will not allow you to be absentee. You will be in the shop.
Basically, you’ve bought yourself a job for the next 3 years but the future looks bright.
So, if I qualified for the loan, had demand in my area, knew that I could be in the store 5 days a week, and liked the food, I would do it.
👀 What’s Next
Next week I’m looking at a franchise that is changing the game in fusion food! I almost bought this one….make sure you are subscribed and share this newsletter with friends who might also be interested!
